Our Practice
George C. Kaufman, III O.D.
Dr. Kaufman founded Woodlands Eye Associates in 1976. He provides comprehensive eye examinations and is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. Dr. Kaufman is also a Glaucoma Specialist. He is skilled in pre- and post-operative surgical care and holds a B.S. degree in biology from Western Illinois University, and a B.S. degree and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston. He served in the Air Force as a hospital-based optometry officer and was an instructor of contact lenses at the University of Houston. He has served as past president of the CISD Board and as board member.
While serving in the Air Force, Dr. Kaufman managed eyecare for pilots with specialized aviation needs. He has continued to provide aviation vision care in his private practice to patients who are both commercial and private pilots.

Britt Wright, O.D.
Dr. Wright is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. He is also a Therapeutic Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston and his undergraduate degree in biology from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. Dr. Wright performed internships at the Eyecare and Surgery Center in Dallas, with emphasis in eye infections and disease, and at Turtle Creek Eye Associates in Dallas, with emphasis in all types of contact lens fitting and management. He received letters of excellence in all four clinics at the University Eye Institute at the University of Houston.

Ginger Brown, OD
Dr. Brown is a certified Therapeutic Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She completed her Doctorate at the University of Houston College Of Optometry where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Texas at Arlington, with a minor in chemistry. She completed her optometric externship training at the Mann Eye Center in Humble. During this externship, she received extensive training in primary optometric care as well as pre-operative and post-operative management of glaucoma, cataracts, retinal diseases, and LASIK vision correction.

Dr. Carl H. Ross, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Ross is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He provides comprehensive eye exams and specializes in hard to fit contact lens cases. Dr. Ross received both this B.S. degree and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston. Additionally, he was an instructor of contact lenses at the University of Houston. He served as a captain and optometrist in the U. S. Army at Tuttle Army Hospital in Georgia. Before joining Dr. Kaufman, he maintained a private practice in the Sugar Land/Stafford area.

Stephen G. Slade, M.D.
Dr. Slade is the director of Slade & Baker Vision. He has received numerous awards including China Service Medal Refractive Surgeon of the Year and the Honor Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, to name a few. He has produced surgical instruments and has two pending U.S. patents in refractive surgery. He is the lead investigator for many new technologies including laser microkeratomes and the new lens for presbyopia, to avoid reading glasses.
